About the workshop
How can we contribute to using more of our clothes instead of buying new or throwing them away?
Learning to repair your own clothes is one way towards a more sustainable wardrobe.
There are many ways to repair your clothes - it can be both by decorating the clothes and making the repair visible, make it as invisible as possible or throw yourself into a small work of art?
The main thing is that we find clothes in our own wardrobe that we don't wear anymore, either because they have holes or stains or maybe because they are too boring, too short, too small or something else entirely.
Together we learn easy techniques to upcycle your clothes and brainstorm on how your blouse can become your favorite piece of clothing again.
You will come home with both good ideas for upcycling your clothes and with easy techniques for repairing damaged or stained clothes.
You will learn the basics and a lot more, such as:
- Different stitches you can use for visible mending and inspiration for when to use which stitches
- How to easily patch a hole in both knitwear (socks, T-shirts, blouses) and woven fabric (jeans, shirts and trousers)
- Lots of ideas to be able to play with expressions yourself and ideas for future repairs
- Knowledge that will give you tools to extend the life of the clothes you already have in your wardrobe
What you get:
- 3 hours workshop with Teffi (@forendenafvejen) and the possibility to ask all your visible and invisible mending questions
- Access to patches and fabric, which you can freely use to patch and beautify your clothes
- Snacks and drinks, all organic
