Cathrine Legardh (DK) & Brian Kellock (UK): ‘Fine Together’
Scotland meets Scandinavia: The Great American Songbook along with a unique selection of Nordic tunes…
‘Brian Kellock, one of the unsung heroes of Scottish jazz and one of the best jazz pianists in Europe plays with Danish singer Cathrine Legardh, whose smoky sultry voice works perfectly with Kellock's mastery of the keys.' BBC News, Scotland, 2013
The Danish jazz vocalist Cathrine Legardh and the Scottish pianist Brian Kellock are back together on stage for the first time in ten years. The audience can expect a rare blend of mainstream jazz from the Great American Songbook and beyond (Kurt Weil, Charlie Haden, Charlie Parker, Tom Waits e.g.) together with a unique selection of Swedish tunes (Georg Riedel, Beppe Wolgers, Evert Taube, Lasse Gullin e.g.).
Cathrine Legardh & Brian Kellock met back in 2003 and released two albums: 'Gorgeous Creature' (Storyville 2008) and 'Love Still Wears A Smile' (Storyville 2013), the latter marked ten years of friendship and musical collaboration. Now they are back in crime – and rhyme – in Gustavskyrkan.

'The strongly admired Scottish pianist, Brian Kellock, accompanies a rhythmically astute expressive Danish jazz singer in an interesting duo set on carefully selected standards.’ ****JAZZWISE
’Vacker, uttrycksfull röst med ett imponerande omfång. Kellocks pianospel - tekniskt fullödigt, fyndigt, festligt, fantasifullt och ytterst lyhört – passar Legardh som hand i handske. De bägge är uppenbarligen samma andas barn. **** DIGJAZZ.SE, J. Olsson
Grandell
’Cathrine has a continental air that I feel marries perfectly with Brian's delicate harmonic progression. Together they explore many possibilities within their duo, both rhythmically and structurally...'. LONDON JAZZZ NEWS, I Barton
